![]() I'm currently on a 720 display maxed out on a 970." Every 12 secs or so a stutter drops to anywhere from 24fps to 40 fps drops. I cannot monitor my temps and frame rate. On steam games, it runs flawless in enabled. I searched the bowels of the internet for a solution. I'm experiencing it while the osd is active only on origin. However if I start ab to monitor my cpu temps, the frame rate starts dipping. If I don't start ab before my games, games run smooth. "msi ab is causing my games to microstutter and I don't know how to fix it. "I have this issue with some games (Far Cry2, F1 2010), but not all." Is it normal for AfterBurner to hurt FPS this much? Does anyone know of a similar program I can use to monitor my GPU Usage/temps and framerate in-game? Framerate didn't drop below 100 and the average was about 150. I knew I should have been getting higher than that with the settings I had selected.įirst thing I did was exit AfterBurner and I noticed an immediate difference. My framerate dropped as low as 60 and the average was about 100. This afternoon I decided to do some Far Cry 2 benchmarks to see how it performed. I bought another 6850 the other day and am now running in crossfire. " I am always running AfterBurner in the background so I can monitor my GPU Usage/temps and framerate while gaming. I closed ab and everything and opened fraps to see fps. It then told me I was getting 20fps, it was really laggy. I then set all my settings and tested the overlay in borderlands 2. (I didn't touch any of the clock rates) I was trying to use it to have the overlay in my games. I enabled the perf overlay and the latency on both the cpu and gpu were booth pretty consistent, where as ussualy i would get weird cpu spikes every few seconds." "I was suprised yesterday when i accidentally booted BF 3 without them, and i noticed more smoother gameplay. Or on our forum"]Battlefield 3 on our forum: ![]() What appears to be happening is the OSD (On Screen Display) part of those programs is conflicting with BF3, which in turn is causing your fps drops." Well if you're like me you were probably using a 3rd party program that displayed your FPS on screen such as And how much its dropping and all that jazz. "So after much testing today, i think ive pinpointed what was causing the FPS drops/cpu lag while playing BF3 after the CQ release.Īllot of you seem to be posting what your fps is etc. I'd love link to my sources too but I'm unable to post links. This is actually a well known issue in many games but I decided to bring it up since it was a topic explored again. In Grim Fandango, GOG overlay works too, but RTSS overlay is distorted - but I don't know whether it is because of this "hack" or it was like that before. I have currently installed only two "pure" GOG games. And after launching a game, GOG overlay pop up with keyboard shortcut showed up! Shift+Tab works as well and my keyboard shortcut for RTSS overlay works too! I restarted MSI Afterburner+RTSS, restarted GOG Galaxy. So I opened notepad as administrator, opened C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\ProfileTemplates\Global file and changed UnconditionalInjectionDelay=0 to UnconditionalInjectionDelay=15000 - the number means 15 seconds delay before RTSS tries to inject its overlay into a game, I also found other thread with 10000 as value but 15000 works well for me. InjectionDelayTriggers = IGO64.dll,overlay64.dll,GameOverlayRenderer64.dll,Galaxy.dll,Galaxy64.dll,EOSOVH-Win32-Shipping.dll,EOSOVH-Win 64-Shipping.dllīut the thread I found mentions different variable in the Global file - UnconditionalInjectionDelay. I don't have original file, so I can't try it with original value. I tried that and it never worked, but doing this might be necessary step too. NOTE: There are loads of other threads on editing Global profile of RTSS and adding bunch of DLLs to InjectionDelayTriggers variable. ![]() Then I found one interesting thread on RTSS forum. But I noticed that while it doesn't show up, after pressing Shift+Tab, the game cursor changes to normal Windows cursor, so it actually tries to do something but fails) Open C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\config.json and put "forceEnableOverlay" : true, e.g. ![]() The first thing I tried was forcing overlay using the steps in GOG developer documentation - paragraph Testing Overlay Locally:
